The Bertrand Area Chamber of Commerce history dates back to late May, 1925, when ‘The Commercial Club’ was organized and became known as the ‘Bertrand Community Club’.

The Articles of Incorporation of ‘Bertrand Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc.’ were signed on June 27, 1984 and filed with the State of Nebraska.  As stated in the Articles of Corporation, the purpose of the organization, “shall be the advancement of the civic, commercial, industrial and agricultural interests of the Village of Bertrand and the surrounding territory; the promotion of the general welfare and prosperity of the Village of Bertrand and its surrounding territory, and the stimulation of public sentiment to these ends; the providing of such social features as will promote these purposes; and to provide a medium for the cooperation of retail businesses, wholesale businesses, industry and agricultural interests in the said territory and community.”

Bertrand Days, a four day festival, held the latter part of June begins on a Saturday with the Viking Booster Club Fun Run, 4-H Horse Show; Sand Volleyball Tournament; Corn Hole Tournament, Bertrand Brews and BBQ.  Community Worship Service and Continental Breakfast open the activities on Sunday morning.  Antique Tractor Show and Pull; Bertrand Days Fair Serving Café; Special Awards in the Park; Crowning of ‘Miss Bertrand’; Entertainment and Carnival.  As Monday dawns, the 4-H livestock entries report for their Blow and Show Judging; the Bertrand Days Fair Serving Café opens for the day and evening; Games and Contests for Young and Old are held at the Village Park; Water Games at the pool; Carnival.  The annual Bertrand Rodeo opens at the Bertrand Arena in the evening.  Tuesday activities include Bertrand Days Serving Café; Bertrand Days Parade; Pedal Tractor Pull, Country Culture “Walk Down Medina”; Carnival; and the final performance of the Bertrand Rodeo at the Bertrand Arena.

Additional annual events sponsored by the Bertrand Area Chamber of Commerce are the Dan McCracken Memorial Fishing Tournament, Chamber Golf Tournament, Summer Youth Baseball/Softball Program.
